Visitor Guidelines

We look forward to welcoming you to Bronx Children's Museum. In order to ensure a fulfilling visit, please abide by the guidelines below.

Food & Drink

In order to protect our exhibits, we ask that visitors refrain from eating in the exhibit areas. Need a quick snack? Feel free to eat or drink on our Welcome Bench in the reception area, but please clean up after yourself. Closed water bottles are welcome in the Museum. Water fountains and refilling stations are located near the bathrooms and near The Nest.  

Footwear

Shoes are required at all times. However, shoes are not permitted in The Nest, our early learner exhibit area. Please bring socks for you and your child if you plan on entering the The Nest. Cubbies are available to store shoes while in The Nest.

 

Diapering

Diapering stations are available in both the men’s and women’s restrooms as well as a gender-neutral family restroom. Please do not change your child’s diaper in the exhibit areas.

 

Unaccompanied Adults

For the safety of all our visitors, adults are not allowed to enter the Museum unless accompanied by a child without prior invitation or approval. If you’re an early childhood educator, researcher, or wish to visit the Museum unaccompanied for other reasons, please contact info@bronxchildrensmuseum.org to request a visit.

 

Unaccompanied Children

Adults must accompany and supervise their children at all times while on Museum property.

 

Disruptive Behavior

Disruptive or disorderly behavior, including running, yelling, threatening others or fighting, is prohibited. 

 

Weapons

Guns, knives, and other dangerous weapons and devices are prohibited on Museum property. Toy weapons are not allowed on Museum property.
 

Substance Use 

The use of any tobacco or cannabis products including e-cigarettes while inside the Museum or smoking within 25 feet of any entrance, exit or elevator is prohibited. Smoking is also prohibited in all NYC Parks, including Mill Pond Park. Displaying physical impairment from alcohol or drug use, or the possession, sale, or use of alcohol and/or illegal drugs on Museum property is prohibited.

 

Animals

Animals, other than licensed service animals necessary for persons with disabilities, are prohibited inside the Museum. Emotional support animals are not allowed inside the Museum.

Cancellations/Rescheduling

All sales are final. If you need to cancel or reschedule your reserved time for any reason, please inform us by contacting ticketing@bronxchildrensmuseum.org. Include your name and order number (if available), and/or the date and time you were scheduled to visit. If you would like to reschedule, please indicate your preferred date and time. We will do our best to accommodate you.

Visitor Guidelines

By reserving or purchasing tickets to visit or attend any event at the Museum, you agree to abide by all visitor guidelines/terms and conditions and any additional safety protocols in effect upon your arrival.

 

Tickets will not be refunded if a visitor is asked to leave the Museum because they do not comply with our visitor guidelines, or federal, state or local laws.
