Lesson 1

Lesson 1: Cloud Paintings

Is it a bunny? Is it a plane? No, it's a ..... cloud! Join Bronx Children’s Museum Program Manager Dejá Santiago as she shares how clouds are formed and how to create cloud paintings.

Video Length: approx. 12 minutes

Items you will need

  • Construction paper (black or blue is best)

  • White paint

  • 3 found objects (straw, cotton ball, wax paper are good options!)

 

Lesson 2: Catch a Rainbow

Everyone loves a rainbow, but do you know where they come from? Join Bronx Children’s Museum STEAM Program Manager Dejá Santiago as she describes how rainbows are formed and how to create rainbows using objects from home.

Video Length: approx. 12 minutes

Items you will need

  • CD or DVD

  • Flashlight

  • Black paper

  • Clear nail polish

  • Basin of water

 

Lesson 3: Waters On the Go! Bus Tour

Full steam ahead! Step aboard our famous purple Museum bus and visit our mobile exhibit, Waters On the Go!

Video Length: approx. 12 minutes

Items you will need

  • Sturdy Paper

  • Oil pastels, crayons, or markers

  • Scissors

  • Glue

 

Lesson 4: Bronx Waterways: Finding Calm in Nature

Did you know the Bronx has more greenspace than any other NYC borough? Take a virtual tour through some of the amazing parks and waterways found right here in the Bronx as you find new ways of feeling calm and reducing stress.

Video Length: approx. 15 minutes

Items you will need

  • Sturdy Paper

  • Water soluble oil pastels

  • Water

  • Paintbrush
