Inside the Museum Space

Bronx Children’s Museum has more than 10,000 sq ft. of active exhibit space where families can play, learn, and connect with the wider Bronx and its natural and cultural resources through art, dramatic role-play, and scientific exploration.

Integrated throughout the Museum is a collection of commissioned artworks by Bronx-connected fine artists called the Arts Builds Community Collection.

The Waterways

Kids (and grown-ups!) of all ages will love splashing and playing in our 35-foot long water table, which mimics the look, feel, and function of Bronx waterways such as the Bronx River, Harlem River, and Orchard Beach.

The Woods

Explore the different animals, plants, and other natural features of the Bronx as you peek through a microscope, observe our live animals in their enclosures, create nature patterns, or build a beaver lodge.

The Block

Explore the Boogie Down Bronx in this miniature replica of a local neighborhood, complete with a community garden, child-sized casita and farmstand. Stroll along the store facades and peek inside our bodega, restaurant, vet clinic, and radio station.

The Nest

This soft space is perfect for little ones 0-3 and their caregivers. Here, infants and toddlers are challenged to develop their fine and gross motor skills through crawling, pulling up, and sorting objects.

The Enchanted Garden

Climb, crawl, and pretend to be a garden critter in this interactive space featuring artwork from children in the Museum’s afterschool program.

The Wonder Room

This flexible space can accommodate groups of up to 30 and serves as a multi-purpose room for classes, programs, drop-in activities, birthday parties, and meetings.

Sonia's Corner

Named after US Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor and Bronx actor and author Sonia Manzano, this room is a space for caregivers to come and relax and find a wealth of information about extracurricular activities, caregiver support services, and enrichment opportunities. Come in for a calm moment to read one of our books or check out our rotating exhibit, currently highlighting the life of Sonia Manzano.

Arts Builds Community Collection

Works by Saya Woolfalk, Andre Trenier, Charles George Esperanza, Duane Bailey-Castro, Edwin Torres, John Ahearn, Rachel Sydlowski, Jerome LaMaar, and Maria Estevez.

The Artist's Studio

“Elebooyah!: The C.G. Esperanza Studio Show” is a recreation of the working studio of the award-winning children’s book illustrator and author C.G. Esperanza. The exhibit gives children an opportunity to see first-hand what it’s like to be in an artist’s studio.

The Fun Map

Take a trip around the Bronx using our large-scale colorful map.

BronxTopia is the main feature of The Cloud, and was designed by local fashion designer Jerome LaMaar. Come move and groove to the sounds of salsa, cha-cha, and hip-hop as you take on an animal avatar in our multi-media, interactive space. When BronxTopia isn’t running, you can watch a film, take a yoga class, or just relax in this comfy space.
