Bronx Children's Museum's On The Go Bus is the traveling home of "River On the Go: Where is Justin the Beaver?".
Three generations of Serrano's celebrate the Museum's first exhibit with the museum's exhibit team! ( From left to right: U. S. Congressman Jose E. Serrano; NY State Senator Jose M. Serrano; Marco (grandson of Jose E. ); Carla Precht, Founding Executive Director; Luisa Escalera, Exhibit Manager; Jack Cesareo, Artist and muralist; Natalie Wood, Artist, muralist, and River on the Go Manager; Lillie Genovesi, Environmental Educator.)
“There is nothing that comes closer to the original dream of cleaning up the waterways in the Bronx than to have children engaged in learning about them,” said Congressman José E. Serrano, an early supporter of the museum.
The river on the go exhibit is a diorama of the Bronx river with authentic fabrications of the flora and fauna (with some real taxiderm animals including a beaver). As children enter as explorers, they hear the sounds of the river and are guided by educators into a land that most children have never experienced before.
