Nicole Perrino
Takisha Dozier: Ms. Dozier is a working mother who is passionate about parents’ involvement in their children's lives. She is a firm believer that parents are their children's first teachers and play a tremendous role in early education and beyond. She is also an advocate of parent education and believes that all parents should have equal access to resources that will help them be the best parents possible. Ms. Dozier works in the nonprofit sector where she recruits, trains, and supports volunteers in leadership positions. She plans to get more involved in Early Childhood Education.
Melissa Libran: Ms. Libran is the mother of two amazing children and a proud Bronxite, born & raised. She is the Founder/CEO of H.O.P.E. (Helping Our Parents Excel) at The Crib, Inc.; Committee Chair of Transportation for Bronx Community Board Six; Vice President of El Batey de Doña Provi Garden Association in the Bronx; and on the Project Advisory Board for the NYC Justice Corp. She is working on her bachelor’s degree at Boricua College. Ms. Libran spent 13 years managing, including case management, at various residential treatment facilities.
Nicole Perrino: Ms. Perrino is the founder of BronxMama.com, a website dedicated to making it easy for Bronx parents to find kid-friendly activities and places to visit in the Bronx. She is a graduate student at John Jay College, a writer, but most importantly, she is a young mother who wants to get Bronx parents more involved with their children and their borough. She also writes for Ballerstatus.com, a daily urban lifestyle website, where she interviews artists and other celebrities, attends album listening sessions and launch parties, and writes the occasional editorial.
